"comment": "I recorded video of it at 102,400 ISO, 1/25\", f/1.8 and posted it on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2wD1j84CUg\nIt was not visible to the naked eye and photographs would not have shown that it was behaving very differently from a typical auroral curtain. The basic behaviour of this aurora was to appear, move upwards like a pulsating wave or curtain, then disappear when it reached the highest point. These discrete flames sometimes occurred several times a second, but more often were once every second or two, in different locations but mostly grouped in one area. The individual flames lasted from around 1/10 of a second, but ocassionally lasted over a second, maybe up to two second. I think this was a very unusual aurora. The photo I included is a poor representation of it and just looks like a dim curtain, please see the video."
